Venezuela sympathizes with the Sri Lankan People and Government and condemns the terrorist attacks that took place in the City of Colombo

President Nicolas Maduro Moros, on behalf of the Government and People of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, strongly condemns the terrorist attacks occurred on April 21st, Easter Sunday, in the city of Colombo, Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, leaving at least 207 dead civilians and more than 400 injured people in hotels and catholic churches of that country.

Venezuela rejects any form and manifestation of terrorism and expresses its heartfelt condolences to the People and authorities of Sri Lanka, specially, to the families and friends of the victims left by this act of barbarism, and also affirms its faith in the actions announced by the Government of Sri Lanka aimed at determining and punishing, under the law, those responsible for such horrendous crime.

The Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela reiterates the bonds of friendship that unite us to the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, as well as the commitment to continue working together for justice, peace and the prosperity of our Peoples.
